"The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place."
Revelation 1:1

"To him who loves us and has freed us by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom of priests to serve his God and Father- to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen!"

All we need to know now is that Revelation was written to people who were already in the kingdom, and all the events described in the book would happen soon.
It was a book written to Christians who had trouble on every side. The message is simple: Stand firm! God is in control!
