Lesson 4.
James
2:1-12 |
|
Favoritism? |
|
'Suppose a man comes into
your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in
shabby clothes also comes in." |
|
What is to be done? |
"If you show special
attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good
seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on
the floor by my feet," have you not discriminated among yourselves
and become judges with evil thoughts?
(vs. 3,4) |
|
Jesus: |
"Then Jesus said to his
disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a
rich man to enter
the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to
go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the
kingdom
of God."
(Matthew 19:23,24) |
