Lesson 4.
James
2:1-13 |
|
The royal law: |
Love neighbors as
self?
(2:8) |
|
"The commandments, 'Do not
commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' "Do not steal,' 'Do not covet,'
and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in
this one rule: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Love does no
harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the
law."
(Romans 13:10) |
"But I tell you who hear me:
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those
who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."
(Luke 6:27) |
"My command is this: Love
each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down his life for his friends."
(John 15:12,13) |
|
"Speak and act as those who
are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because
judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been
merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!
