I Samuel 20: Lesson 13
David and Jonathan

Is it any wonder they become good friends (one in spirit)?

David defeated bears and lions without impressive weapons... through the power of his faith.
God gave him victory over Goliath with
a sling.

Jonathan attacked Philistine outposts twice with only one spear and one sword...because he
believed in the power of God to provide the victory.

They were both leaders, willing to do things on their own.

David lived in the house of King Saul.
As a sign of their friendship, Jonathan gave David his royal robe, tunic, sword, bow and belt.
David was so successful that he was given a high rank in the army.
The people honored David.
But, there is trouble!
