out of Saul's hands. |

Saul knew he was going to die and told his
armor-bearer to run him
through to save him from the abuse of the Phiistines. |

The armor-bearer
refused. |
Saul took his own life
by falling on his own sword.
His armor-bearer fell on his own sword and died with
Saul. |

The Israelites along the valley and across the
Jordan River abandoned their towns and fled. The Philistines
occupied their towns. |
