God promised Abram
(Abraham) that his family would grow into a great
nation and live in a beautiful land. It was 400 years
before this happened.
But the second part
of the promise was even more important.
"...and
through your offspring
all nations on
the earth will
be blessed, because you have obeyed me."
Genesis 22:18
Who was this blessing?
"The
scripture foresaw that god would justify the Gentiles
by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to
Abraham: ‘All nations will be blessed through
you.’ So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the
man of faith."
