Three Frogs on a
Log
Once upon a time there were three frogs sitting on a log. One frog was green with huge, ugly warts. He had no great claim to fame. He was just a plain, ugly, green frog. The second frog was a well-cultured frog. He was sophisticated and bred for accomplishment. This frog had been written up in all the frog journals, and was elected most likely to succeed. He had all the natural looks and ability of Super Frog. The third frog was quiet and shy with no unusual markings. In fact, if one did not look closely, one would miss him. He was just an ordinary, middle-classed frog...known as a plod-frog. No-one really expected anything from him. He had a secret desire to make it big, but just could not imagine himself being big. After all, how many plod-frogs are successful? These frogs knew they were designed to do frog things in the water. As they sat on the log, they started talking about life, love and the phases of the moon. The more they talked, the more they wanted to do something besides sit on the log. The water below was where the action was...and they knew it. But, there were ugly, dreadful monsters in the water. It seemed safe on the log. But all three frogs knew better than to believe the excuses they had manufactured. They had heard too many frog success stories. Suddenly one frog could take in no longer. He decided to lead out and jump off the log...to mix it up in the real world of the cool, inviting water. How many frogs are still on the log? |
