Concept:
Who is God? God is all-powerful!
God
controls kings and nations!
Bible Lesson: Nebuchadnezzar lives like an animal.
(Daniel 4)
Application: God controls my nations and
government leaders today.
Suggested Activities
1. Draw a simple outline of a man
on paper or chalkboard. As you read the description in the text,
change the man to look like the animal described. Don’t worry about
your artistic ability, the children will love anything you draw! You
might want to give each child a turn to transform the king as well.
2. Help children imagine what it
would be like to live like an animal. Wash the table, then put a small
snack in front of the children and have them try to eat it without
using their hands.
3. Ask the children how animals
move on the ground. Have them waddle like ducks, crawl like dogs, hop
like bunnies and kangaroos, etc. Talk about how powerful God must be
to change a man into an animal.
4. Have each child decorate a
yellow paper crown by gluing sequins or putting on stickers for
jewels. Then have each child wear his crown and play the Obedient King
game. Tell them that good kings obey God, and that you are going to
see if they can obey like good kings. Give several simple commands
like stand up, touch your toes, smile, reach for the sky, etc. Praise
all the obedient kings.
5. Bring a picture of your
country’s most powerful leader (the president). Talk about how he
should obey God if he wants to be a good leader. Pray for him by name
with your class.
