Tuatara Lizard

The Tuatara is a large lizard that lives and thrives in New Zealand.
According to the evolutionary time-table the Tuatara disappeared one hundred and thirty five million years ago. The skeleton of the Tuatara is the same as the Tuatara skeleton found in the Evolutionary Cretaceous period.
How did this Tuatara survive without any changes, when all the other critters supposedly changed.
