A Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.@Exodus 20:8,9 The idea of a day of rest each week is good, but the Sabbath Day commandment was the only one of the ten commandments that was not a universal commandment... and was not included in the New Testament. The Mosaic Law (Old Testament) was fulfilled and replaced with a New Testament when Jesus died on the cross. Jesus died on the first day of the week, and early Christians met together on the first day of the week. |
