This part of the creation is not easy to understand. We do know that it was dark and God separated the water from the water.

It could be that God made what we call the atmosphere and clouds. At some time in this day God created the universe because on the fourth day He put the sun, moon and stars in the expanse of the sky.

God said "Let there be light" and there was light. He called the light day and the darkness night. This is interesting because He did not make the sun, moon and stars until the 4^th day. God is the source of light and life.

It is clear God has the power to do anything He wants to do!
