God promised Abraham land, and a great nation! 
(Genesis 15:4-8) 
The Israelites lived in Egypt 430 years before God led them out of Egyptian slavery. God did not forget His promise! 
(Genesis 12:40; 50:24) 
The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for another 40 years. God did not forget His promise.
