The Baker

This time it only took 20 years to turn away from God!

"Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites. Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves and strongholds."
(Judges 6:1,2)

"Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the LORD for help."
(Judges 6:6)

Gideon
He was grinding grain in a winepress so the Midianites would not see him.
An angel appeared to him and said:
"The Lord is with you mighty warrior."
Gideon replied:
Where are all the mighty works from God we have been told about?
"Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?"
Gideon asked:
How can I do it? I am the smallest of the small!
"I will be with you and you will strike down all the Midianites together."

Gideon was still not ready to fight against the Midianites!

Would I want to fight against the cruel Midianites?
They had caused big trouble for 7 years.
