Noah Life Stories and Parables Devotional
and Meditation Thoughts
She was a wonderful, ugly dog named Brown Sugar. She was
intelligent, but because of her circumstances, she had been confined to a back yard all her life. The back yard was all she
knew...with one exception.
The only time Brown Sugar ever got out of the back yard was when her owner took
the trash to a dumpster in the alley.
When the trash was carried out, Brown Sugar would dash into the alley with great
delight. She would happily scurry around the dumpster and race her owner back into the yard.
Brown sugar could have raced down the alley and disappeared into the sunset. She could have found romance and adventure. She could have explored much more of the alley. She could have easily outrun her owner and stayed out all day.
She did none of the above. Brown Sugar never knew the exciting, adventure (and possible danger) that waited for
her...beyond the dumpster.
Application
Many times we limit ourselves to trash that
surrounds us...never experiencing the joy and accomplishment of
discovery.
The greatest discovery is Jesus.
"Salvation is found in no
one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by
which we must be saved." (Acts
4:12)
