and Meditation Thoughts
He spoke of lift, drag,
thrust, air speed, centrifugal force, instruments, nervous sweat and
survival.
It was not just another story of high adventure in the
sky. It was a story of crisis...and faith.
The small plane was climbing through the clouds.
Visibility was normal for cloud flying...zero. The pilot was
normal...he could not tell which way was up. It was a routine climb
through an ordinary cloud.
But, normal has a strange way of becoming abnormal. The
pilot looked at his instruments and a cold sweat popped from his
forehead. The normally stable compass was spinning out of control,
air speed was high and his bearing was off.
The pilot's training told him the compass was not spinning...the plane was spinning. When he added the high
speed factor, he knew the plane was going the wrong
direction...down.
Since there was no reference points in the clouds, he
was suddenly force to put his full trust in a few dials and
gages...and his ability to use them. If his instruments were
operating correctly, and his plane would respond as it was
designed...he would survive.
There are two things that
are constant, regardless of the circumstances of life. God is real,
and His natural spiritual laws work exactly like they are designed
to work...when properly used.
When I have faith in the designer, his reliable
instruments and the handbook, nothing can separate me from God's
purpose for my life. Because I had nothing to do with the vehicle
design, I can use it with pride and unlimited confidence.
