"Just as it was in the
day of Noah.
Then
the
flood came and destroyed them all."
(v.27)
What is Jesus talking about?
It is not the
second coming of Jesus!
At the event in this
text, one will be taken and another left. At the second
coming of Jesus, the world will be destroyed and all will be
judged. (Actual
text of I Thessalonians 4:13-18) The same thing is
described in Mark
13. This is associated with something called the abomination
that causes desolation.
This would happen
after:
1. Jesus suffered and was rejected. (Luke
17:25)
2. Earthquakes, famines, war,
flogging, arrest
and great persecution. (Mark
13)
2. The gospel is preached. (Mark 13)
It will happen at
an unknown time! (Mark 13:32)
Where will it
happen?
"Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will
gather."
(Luke 17:37)
Jesus
is talking about the destruction of the temple in 50 A.D. (Mark 13:1-4)
