The Temptations of Jesus Were Real!
Luke 4:1-13

If Jesus was not really tempted, his example would mean nothing because the New Testament writers said his temptations were real.

Temptation 1
Jesus was very hungry, and food was very tempting.
"If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread"

Jesus' Answer
"It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread alone’."
Deuteronomy 8:3

In Deuteronomy 8, God humbled the Israelites to teach them that people do not live by food only, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.

We do not know why this was such a strong temptation for Jesus. Most people think it was the desire of human appetites (hunger, thirst, etc.). We do know Jesus knew Satan is a deceiver, up to no good and any suggestion he makes should be challenged!
