The reason for offering Barabbas instead of Jesus.

The earthquake and people coming out of the grave.

Jesus' pierced side. (John 19:33,34)
Nicodemus helped bury Jesus. (John 19:39)
Joseph of Arimathea used his own grave to bury Jesus. (Matthew 27:57-60)

Pilate and Herod were enemies, but became friends because of the trial of Jesus.
Luke 23:12

Pilate knew Jesus was innocent of the charges against him.

Pilate wanted to release Jesus!
