has no life of its own! In our
world, there are over 8,600 kinds of birds,
18,000 different fishes, 88,000 different
mollusks (clams, oysters, etc.), 25,000
different worms, 3,500 kinds of mammals, 5,500
different reptiles and amphibians, 4,700 kinds
echinoderms (starfish, sea urchins, etc.), and 815,000
arthropods (lobsters, shrimp, crabs, etc.).
When we add all the insects and plants, the
variety of God’s creation is hard to
imagine. These numbers are constantly changing
as new plants and animals are found.
There
are so many arthropods that look so different.
All arthropods have unique lifestyles, but they
are related.
