Luke's purpose was to provide information that Theophilus (a Roman official) could easily check out for himself.

Chapters 1 and 2...The planned trip to earth. Check it out!
The birth of John the Baptist and Jesus are announced.
John is born.

Chapter 3...According to the plan...Jesus begins his ministry

Chapter 24...Jesus is alive...according to the plan!
