Chapter 3...Popularity and Rejection
Crowds follow Jesus

Religious leaders say He is possessed by Beelzebub.

Chapter 4 and 5...Parables and Miracles
Sowing, lamp and mustard seed.
Jesus calms the storm.

Chapters 6...Not honored, but still a servant
Rejected in his home town
Jesus sends the 12 out to preach
John the Baptist is beheaded
Jesus feeds the 5,000 and walks on water

Chapters 7...Apposed, but still serves
Controversy about hand washing
He casts out a demon and heals a deaf mute.

Chapters 8...Jesus uses a miracle to teach the 12
He feeds 5,000: He uses the apostles response to teach about the yeast of the Pharisees.
Peter confesses that Jesus was the Christ
Jesus talks about the cost of discipleship, and predicts His own death.

Chapters 9 and 10...The Kingdom is near
The transfiguration
The 12 argue about who is the greatest. He used a child as his example.
Jesus teaches the 12 lessons about ambition, sin, salt, divorce and compassion
He predicts His death again.

Chapters 11 and 12...Acceptance and Rejection
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowd praised him as king.
Jesus clears the merchants from the temple.
The Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus.
His enemies knew Jesus was talking about them and questioned his authority.
Jesus taught about his death, responsibility, marriage, dedication and giving.

Chapters 13 and 14...Jesus serves until the end.
Jesus tells the 12 about signs that would accompany the end of the Jewish age.
A woman anoints Jesus' head. Jesus told his disciples it was for his burial.
The last Passover meal.
Gethsemane
Jesus is arrested and taken before the Sanhedrin.
Peter disowns Jesus.

Chapters 15...The great servant is killed
The illegal trial
Prophecies are fulfilled
The crucifixion of the innocent servant

Chapters 16...Jesus is alive!
He gave the great commission: Go tell the good news...I am alive!
